Mom and me hanging out at one of our favorite places....the library.  I'm still recovering from my busy holiday!

Happy 2013!  It's been a while since my last blog entry.  But I've been so very busy. The last week in December, Mrs. Ehlers read a book about true stories about heroic dogs.  Mom told me that I'm heroic too because I encourage children to read.

Below are some other books that we have about animal heroes.  I want to thank Lauren and Lydia Bystricky for buying books for the Reinbeck Elementary Library (Animal Helpers and Unlikely Friendships).  Both Lydia and Lauren enjoy animals, so these two books were ordered.  I would also like to thank the Gladbrook PTO for having the book fair in December. One of the books that is at the Gladbrook Elementary Library is Animal Heroes.  What a great idea!

Books about my favorite subject...animals of course!!!!
In honor of all of the snow we have gotten, last week we read about snowflakes and Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley.  He discovered that no two snowflakes are alike.  If you Google snowflake pictures, you will most certainly see some of the 5,000 pictures he took of snowflakes using a microscope camera in the late 1800's.

Here are some other neat websites you can look under if you would like to see snowflakes:

http://snowflakes.barkleyus.com/:  this site allows you to make your own snowflake on the computer
http://highhopes.com/snowflakes.html: gives directions of making your own paper snowflake
